Our book of the week…

Dear Parents,
We are excited to share that this week in nursery, we will be reading the story ‘Oliver’s Vegetables’. This lovely story, follows a young boy named Oliver who discovers the joys of eating vegetables as he embarks on a fun adventure with his grandpa.
Throughout the week, we will be reading the story together and discussing all the wonderful vegetables Oliver encounters on his journey. Our little ones will have the chance to explore the various types of vegetables, learn about their colours, shapes, and even taste some of them.
In addition to reading the book, we will be doing some fun activities based on the story. The children will have the opportunity to:
-Create vegetable-themed crafts: Using paper and other materials, the children will create their own veggie art to display in the nursery.
-Veggie sorting games: We’ll have a fun game where the children sort different “vegetables” into baskets, helping them learn about the variety of foods Oliver sees.
-Role-playing Oliver’s adventure: The children can take on the role of Oliver and his grandpa, acting out parts of the story with friends.
We encourage you to ask your child about the vegetables they learned about in the story and see if they are inspired to try new vegetables at home.
Thank you for your support.
