It has been another busy week in Reception.
We are enjoying learning about our new topic! It has been lots of fun!
Please make sure that your child has a water bottle everyday!
It is important that they drink water whilst the weather is so hot!
We have also been revisiting and reviewing our Phase 2 and Phase 3 phonics letters and sounds!

What a busy week it has been in Reception and what a busy term it has been. There have been so many highlights over the past six weeks! Making porridge, Librarian visits, Mothers Day cards and lunch to name but a few events.
This week, the children have been learning about Easter. They made special Easter cards, went on an Easter egg hunt around the playground and celebrated Easter with the Easter Bonnet Parade.

Last week, the children were very excited to plant their magic beans. I wonder whose will be the tallest? We also enjoyed the fine weather by playing outside with the water!
This week, the children are learning about the story of The Ugly Duckling. Through this story, the children will explore emotions and feelings. Please find a link to the story below.
In maths, the children are exploring length and height through measuring and will also be learning the names of 3D solids. Maybe you could go on a 3D shape hunt around your home and local area with your child! Here is a catchy song to help your child learn the names of 3D shapes;

What another busy week it has been in Reception!
We had a special visitor from Peckham Library last week, who shared songs and the funny story of ‘A Squash and A Squeeze’ with the children. Remember to support your local library! It is FREE to join and it is an invaluable resource!
This week, the children have been learning about the story of ‘Jasper’s Beanstalk’ which introduces the children to what is required to grow a beanstalk and the days of the week. In maths, the children are learning about subtraction. The children have been busy making their Easter bonnets in preparation for the Easter parade on Wednesday 2nd April.
Just to remind you that the book fair is continuing this week until Friday so come to the hall and purchase your books!
Red Nose Day is on Friday 21st March so remember to wear your red noses and bring in a £1.

The children had so much fun on World Book Day last week dressing up in their pyjamas. We shared our favourite stories and celebrated a love of reading. Here are some photographs;

A gentle reminder that next week on Friday 21st March, we will be celebrating Red Nose Day. Children are invited to donate £1 and wear their own clothes and a red nose!
Finally, the school has noticed, as stated on the newsletter, an increase in lateness across the school for drop off and pick up. Please try to ensure the children are on time for the start of their learning at 8:45 and pick up promptly at 3:15.

First and foremost, welcome back! Hope you and your families had a lovely and restful half term break.
Our topic for this half term is Tales from Around the World. This week, the children have been learning about the traditional tale, Goldilocks and the Three Bears. They have had fun making bear masks and exploring the story, focusing on the characters and the beginning, middle and end. They really enjoyed the musical version. See the link below;
